BEEFIT Snacks started in a shoe box and grew to one of the largest biltong drying chambers in the UK. The farm is located on the beautiful Sussex coast and it's been said that their biltong is considered the best in Europe, with prestigious awards to prove it!

  • Cash flow was needed to finance the production of new products and increasing demand.
  • Premises and machinery couldn't keep up with increasing demand.
  • Unsuitable online presence which was failing to capture critical customer data, analytics and insights.
  • More specialist knowledge was needed to help develop a new product range.

We helped the Directors apply for £135,000 of funding via our Growth Grant programme which brought machinery for a newly acquired premises and then introduced them to a new bank who extended their invoice finance.

BEEFit joined our Escalator programme which gave Directors more knowledge to understand, analyse and grow their business.

Next, we ran digital business diagnostics which provided Directors with reassurance to develop a bold new brand and introduced them to the Sussex Innovation Centre who assisted with developing SEO capabilities, customer segmentation and digital analytics.

What's more, we established an opportunity for the company to utilise unwanted fruit from a local farmer's orchard, in the production of a new fruit range.

Now, the company's turnover is set to exceed £2.5m by 2020 having doubled in the last two years.

"The Growth Hub worked tirelessly with us to secure funding which resulted in us completing construction of our new factory. The support we received was fantastic and the follow up has been equally helpful. It is not just about the grant, it about the meetings with people that Coast to Capital have put us in touch with who have helped shaped our thinking."
