From the 1st January 2021 all UK businesses will be operating under different trade agreements and this will mean getting to grips with a number of issues in terms of reporting and record-keeping.

This session will be useful to not only manufacturers or importers but those who support them as the paperwork and issues around compliance and regulation become apparent.

On Thursday 18 Feb, from 1 - 2 pm, Brighton Chamber CEO Sarah Springford will be joined by Lesley Batchelor OBE, CEO of International Trade Experts Ltd, which runs the ExportBootCamp series of workshops.

We’ll cover topics including:

  • What is a free trade agreement and how they operate?
  • How does the World Trade Organization’s Most Favoured Nation tariff work?
  • How do you know where the Origin of your goods is legally?
  • Rules of Origin and how to analyse and calculate this
  • Recordkeeping to support my declared origin for my goods
  • More paperwork
  • Do I have to use a free trade agreement?

You can send your questions in advance to Daisy and there will be a chance to submit your questions during the session.

From Brighton with Love includes a series of expert panel events, Your Questions Answered sessions, and Export Leaders peer network sessions. This package of support is designed to help businesses through the EU transition and give them the confidence to embark on international trade.

This new initiative is led by Brighton Chamber and supported by Brighton & Hove City Council with event partner Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership. Its aim is to provide Brighton area businesses with expertise that will see them through the EU Transition and beyond.

All sessions are held virtually, open to all, and free to attend.
