This is an intensive programme aimed at business owners or managers who work for organisations that are without an internal HR resource.
Day 1: We will kick off the programme by defining what the key HR practices are and discuss who, within your business or organisation is responsible for their implementation.
We’ll then explore the role of line managers in the day-to-day execution of HR.
HR Practices we will explore:
Resourcing: what is workforce planning and how does it inform decision making about resourcing?
Employer Branding Recruitment & Selection Best Practice Legislation: the importance of job role descriptions; induction; the onboarding process and probationary period
Performance Management: what good practice looks like and intended outcomes
Day 2: Reward
We’ll kick off Day 2 with the importance of rewards: financial and non-financial pay, compensation, and benefits. The focus will be on designing a reward system that is relevant to the culture and purpose of your organisation and which takes into consideration factors including the size and the nature of the workforce as well as the financial position of the organisation.
We’ll explore how rewards can help an organisation to achieve its goals, for example attracting high talent, encouraging team working, retaining talent or driving employee engagement and innovation.
Finally, we will look at Employee Development, and how best to do it should link with organisational goals.
We’ll wrap up the programme with some tips and ideas on how to measure the impact of the HR practices from both an organisational and employee perspective and d provide useful sources of HR expertise and advice to use on an ongoing basis.
This is intensive programme is free to attend because it's funded through the ERDF and HM Government. It is open to any U.K. resident aged 18+.
