Here is an update on applying for Apprenticeship Levy Funds in the Coast to Capital Area and a brief description of what businesses can apply/what each business would cover regarding costs.

If a business have fewer than 50 employees, then they will probably not end up paying anything other than the apprentice salary.

If the business have 50+ employees, but a wage bill of under £3m per year, then they will need to pay 10% of training costs.

There are £1,000 incentives to take a learner aged 16-18 or a care leaver/learner with additional needs.

There are no national grants. A long time ago, there was a £1,500 government grant that small businesses could claim, but that finished in 2015.

There are sometimes local grants, these will be advertised as they come about.

Most local authorities are using up to 25% of their levy pot to transfer to SMEs who would be in-line to pay the 10%.
